Delete Your Account
You can delete your Bullpen account at any time. This page explains how, and exactly what gets removed.
If you can sign in
Go to Account Settings and use Delete my accountat the bottom of the page. You'll be asked to type your email address to confirm. Deletion happens immediately.
If you can't sign in
Email us at support@bullpen from the address on the account and ask us to delete it. We may ask you to confirm a detail on the account before we act, so that nobody can close an account that isn't theirs. We action these within 30 days and normally much sooner.
What gets deleted
- Your account and login credentials
- Your consultant profile, including your photo
- Saved searches and job alerts
- Your application tracker entries and notes
- Your The Community threads and replies
- Your direct messages. Conversations you took part in are removed for the other member as well, so they will no longer see that thread.
- Any contact email or phone number you chose to publish
What we keep, and why
- Payment records. If you held a paid membership, Stripe retains transaction records we're required to keep for tax and accounting purposes. We keep our own reference to those records. They contain no card details.
- Job listings. Listings are site content rather than personal data, so they stay published. If you were an administrator who curated listings, those stay up with your name removed.
Deleting some of your data without closing your account
You don't have to delete everything to remove something. Most of what you add is yours to clear at any time, and it takes effect immediately:
- Profile content. Your photo, introduction video, headline, bio, skills, professional experience, education, and credentials can each be edited or cleared individually from your profile page. Clearing a section removes it from your public profile straight away.
- Published contact details. Untick the box that shows your contact email or phone number and it stops appearing on your public profile. Clear the fields to remove the values entirely.
- Directory listing. You can remove yourself from the member directory from your profile page without taking down your public profile.
- Saved searches and tracked applications. Delete individually from Saved Searches and Applications.
- The Community posts. You can delete your own threads and replies from the thread they appear in.
Two things you can't remove yourself. Direct messagescan't be unsent or edited, by design, so a conversation stays a reliable record for both people in it. And your name and emailare what the account is, so removing them means deleting the account. If you want anything else removed that isn't listed here — or you want us to delete specific messages — email support@bullpenand we'll handle it. We may ask you to verify your identity first.
If you have a paid membership
Deleting your account cancels your membership immediately — you don't need to cancel separately first. Because the cancellation is immediate rather than at the end of the billing period, you may be giving up paid time you've already covered. If you'd rather use out the period first, cancel from Account Settings and delete the account later.
See our Privacy Policy for what we collect and how it's handled.
